I had the pleasure of catching this set at Burning Man this year on burn night. I didnt technically know it was Yolanda Be Cool, nor did I intentionally enter the dance floor. But lucky for me, they played at the huge daytime dance bar right next to our camp!
So for almost the entire week, Pink Mammoth was a constant heartbeat of bassy house music. With little lyrics, the first few days were kind of annoying. Maybe it was Stockholm Syndrome but by the end of the week, it was really growing on me. By burn night, I was fully digging it.
That’s when this set came on! It was a magical afternoon. Everyone had hit their stride at burning man and we were about to embark on our biggest group outing yet. Getting 46 cats herded to the man was a hilarious adventure, all set to the soundtrack of Yolanda Be Cool.
Ill never forget it.
